The Pacific Scientific 5410 Bipolar Drive Module is a standard component of the 5445 module indexer drive package, primarily used to deliver consistent performance in the Pacific Scientific 5000 series motors. Operating at a nominal chopper frequency of 20 kHz, its output is dependent on the properties of the connected motors. When functioning as an Indexer, its voltage Input ranges from 18 VDC to 75 VDC and consistently maintains a current of 5.0 +/- 0.1 Amp. The drive module also features a Micro-step Current Boost function that can enhance the micro-step current to 1.4 times its regular rate for more than 500 full steps. When turned off, the same steady current is supplied regardless of step rate. In regular operation, the drive achieves a maximum pulse rate of 40,000 pps, and 80,000 pps and 500,000 pps at full-step and half-step, respectively. This state-of-the-art module utilizes a Pulse Width Modulation circuit and a patented PacSci programming algorithm for current regulation and step input handling.
