Indramat DKR

Indramat DKR

The DKR series of drive controllers are engineered for digital intelligent control of Rexroth Indramat motors, including AC main spindle motors (2AD or ADF), frameless spindle motors (1MB), and linear motors (LSF or LAF). These motors offer a significant continuous power range at the output shaft, spanning from 10 to 93 kW. DKR drive controllers are available in various power ratings to provide precise control and regulation of these motors. Characterized by their high level of control and an extensive speed range with consistent power, DKR drive controllers are particularly fitting for applications in NC-controlled machine tools and printing machinery, where such features are critical for optimal operation.

The DKR drive controllers are designed to connect directly to grounded AC mains with a voltage range of 400 V to 480 V and come equipped with an integrated mains contactor and an emergency stop shutdown device. In addition, the regenerated braking energy is fed back into the mains supply, which is a feature that remains active even during an emergency stop.

The DKR02 and DKR03 models have the option to include an integrated brake resistor, whereas the DKR04 can be fitted with an external brake resistor. This feature is critical as it allows for the deceleration of the drive in the event of mains failure.

Regarding cooling, the DKR drive controllers have a heatsink and blower integrated into their housing. The cooling air can be directed through the machine via an air duct. This design is flexible and can be quickly adapted to meet different demands and requirements. There are three cooling variants available:

1. With air from inside the control enclosure.
2. With air from outside the control enclosure.
3. Using a duct for cooling.

This flexibility ensures that the drive controllers can be configured to suit a variety of operating environments and setups.

Configuring a Complete Drive Controller

The DKR drive is a modular system designed for customization through the insertion of various components into its basic unit. This modular approach allows the DKR drive to be tailored specifically to different applications, such as those requiring a mounted measuring encoder. To adapt the basic unit to a particular application, individual plug-in cards are inserted into designated slots labeled U1 through U5.

Once fully assembled, a configured DKR drive comprises the basic unit, a software module, one or more command interface cards, and auxiliary plug-in module(s).

Ordering a DKR drive requires selecting the necessary firmware, referenced as FWA-DIAX03-.... Each firmware is considered a subitem and has to be ordered separately. The firmware functions as the operating system of the DKR drive, installed on EPROMs within the DSM software modules and any auxiliary plug-in modules as needed.

Appropriate Use

DKR drive controllers are designed for specific applications, featuring customizable drive power and various interfaces, making them suitable for use in printing machines and NC (numerically controlled) machine tools. For optimal performance, these controllers should be operated within designated parameters including correct assembly, installation, and specified ambient conditions such as temperature range, protection system, humidity, and adherence to EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) requirements. It is also crucial that these controllers are used in their specified position to ensure proper functionality.
