Indramat SD Magnet Motors are a key component of the Bosch Servodyn drive system, serving the extensive realm of mechanical engineering. These motors are known for their hassle-free, maintenance-free operation thanks to their brushless construction. They are compatible with -T (A) or -TC series inverters, tailored for precise control in position and velocity servo loops.

Indramat SD magnet motors offer a range of notable features, including maintenance-free operation enabled by their brushless motor and tacho design. They provide a consistent torque across their operating range, ensuring reliable performance. These motors are also designed to withstand high loads, able to handle peak torque up to three times their rated torque, which speaks to their high resistance to demagnetization. They are capable of managing large overloads due to efficient heat dissipation – a benefit of the stator winding's low thermal resistance. Moreover, they achieve good synchronization thanks to a specialized magnet configuration and precise current regulation in all three phases. Lastly, they maintain a high protection standard attributable to their completely sealed construction, safeguarding the motor's integrity and functionality.

Ambient Conditions

The MSM motors are safeguarded by an IP54 degree of protection, making them suitable for environments where they may encounter dust and splashing water. Their usage complies with NFPA-79 applications. For installation flexibility, these motors can be positioned in multiple ways, specifically IM B5, IM V1, and IM V3. They operate effectively within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 40°C and can be installed at altitudes up to 1000 meters without degrading performance.

Cooling By thermal radiation and natural convection. Installation must ensure adequate heat dissipation. High surface temperatures may occur on the motor. A touch guard must be provided if necessary.
Thermal motor protection NTC thermostat integrated in the winding with evaluation in the related servo module. Temperature range -10 °C to + 145 °C.
Tacho and commutation sensor Brushless version, integrated in the non-driving end of the motor. The commutation sensor controls commutation of the phase currents in the connected inverter.
