Indramat MHP Motors
The MHP series AC motors by Rexroth Indramat are designed for use in conjunction with the POWERDRIVE drive package to create cost-effective and responsive drive systems. They are modular, allowing for flexible combinations with standard power supply units and control systems like Heidenhain TNC410M, TNC426M, or TNC430M. These motors are particularly suitable for applications in machine tools, textile machines, printing machines, packaging machines, robots, and handling machines.
Key advantages of MHP motors include high operational reliability and maintenance-free operation due to their brushless design and grease-lubricated bearings that last for the service life of the motor. They can be used in adverse environmental conditions thanks to their fully sealed design that complies with IP 65 protection standards. Additionally, MHP motors offer overload protection through motor temperature monitoring, high power data, and high dynamics due to favorable torque-to-inertia mass ratios. They also feature high overload capabilities, which are facilitated by efficient heat dissipation from stator windings to the motor housing's outer wall.
These motors are capable of peak torque over a broad speed range because of electronic commutation, and they support continuous start-stop operations at high repetitive frequencies. The motors can be easily mounted onto machines with flanges meeting DIN 42948 requirements and can be positioned as required. Direct overhung mounting of pinions and belt discs is possible due to bearings designed to handle high radial loads. Various cabling options are also available with standard cables of different lengths and types.
The integrated motor feedback in MHP motors is essential for the control systems to determine the current position of the motor for precise speed control and positioning.
In terms of proper use, MHP motors must be operated only by trained personnel familiar with safety guidelines and with the appropriate motor connections. They are designed to be used within specific environmental and operational conditions, and using them outside these parameters could result in damage or injury, for which Rexroth Indramat would not be responsible. It is crucial that all instructions regarding the use of these motors be strictly followed to avoid any potential misuse or damage.
