Indramat MAF

Indramat MAF Motors

Indramat MAF motors are a sophisticated series of servo motors that incorporate advanced features for high-demand industrial applications. These motors are known for their precision and reliability, particularly in tasks that require exact motion control and continuous operation. One of the standout features of the MAF series is their liquid cooling system, which significantly enhances performance by maintaining optimal operating temperatures, even under high load conditions. This cooling system allows the MAF motors to operate at higher power outputs and speeds without compromising the lifespan or efficiency of the motor. For instance, specific models in the MAF series can achieve rated speeds up to 2,500 revolutions per minute and deliver rated torque up to 70 Newton-meters, highlighting their capability to handle rigorous industrial tasks with ease. The integration of liquid cooling in MAF motors underscores Indramat's commitment to providing durable and high-performance solutions for the most challenging automation environments.

Liquid Cooling

TheMAF series by allows for customizable coolant ports to suit various liquid cooling requirements. For the MAF motors ranging in size from 100 to 130, the coolant port has a connection thread of G1/4" with an option for a quick coupling of a 9 mm tube. For larger motors, sized between 160 to 225, the coolant port is designed with a G1/2" thread and accommodates a quick coupling for a 13 mm tube. It's also noted that the orientation of the inlet (IN) and outlet (OUT) can be interchanged without affecting the motor's performance, offering flexibility in the cooling system setup. Users are advised to select the connection according to the type code specific to their motor, ensuring an appropriate match for their cooling needs. For in-depth specs of the MAF motor's liquid cooling system, please refer to Indramat's documentation.

Appropriate Use and Maintenance

The Rexroth IndraDyn A series asynchronous motors, including the MAF series, are engineered for rotary main and servo drive motor applications and are commonly utilized in various industrial settings such as machine tools, printing and paper-processing machines, packaging and food-processing machines, and metal-forming machines.

For proper care, particularly for the MAF motors which feature a liquid cooling system, it is crucial to conduct regular maintenance checks. The cooling system should be inspected for proper functioning as part of the machine maintenance schedule, at least every 1000 operating hours. If any issues are identified, such as a failure or fault in the cooling system, the recommended action is to clean or rinse the cooling circuit as necessary. It's important to contact the machine manufacturer in case of a system failure. This preventative maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of the MAF motors in their demanding industrial roles. Please refer to official Indramat Documentation for
