Indramat MHD

Indramat MHD Motors

The MHD motor series come in a variety of frame sizes, each with its own specific flange size and centering diameter. The smallest, the 041 frame size, has a flange size of 82 mm and a centering diameter of 50 mm. The 071 size increases the flange to 115 mm and the centering diameter to 95 mm. The 090 frame has a 140 mm flange and a centering diameter of 110 mm. Both the 093 and 095 sizes have flange sizes of 140/150 mm but the centering diameter for both is 130 mm. The 112 and 115 frames have the same flange size of 192 mm; however, the 112 has a centering diameter of 130 mm, whereas the 115 has a larger diameter of 180 mm. The largest, the 131 frame size, significantly increases in size with a 260 mm flange and a 250 mm centering diameter. These different sizes allow for varied applications and mounting options in industrial settings.

Power Connection Direction

The MHD motors offer several output direction options for their connectors:

- A: Output connector in the direction of side A - Available for MHD093.
- B: Output connector in the direction of side B - Available for MHD095.
- L: Power connector to the left - Available for MHD112 and MHD115.
- R: Power connector to the right - Available for MHD131.
- U: Power and feedback connectors turnable within a range of 270° - Available for MHD041, MHD071, and MHD090.

Ambient Conditions

The performance data for MHD motors are valid under the conditions of ambient temperatures ranging from 0 °C to +45 °C and at installation altitudes from 0 meters up to 1000 meters above mean sea level (MSL). Should these motors be utilized outside of these specified ranges, it is necessary to account for "utilization factors," which will result in a decrease in the performance data.

Regarding the protection levels, MHD motors are designed to comply with specific degrees of protection according to DIN VDE 0470, Part 1, edition 11/1992 (EN 60 529). The motor housing, output shaft, power and encoder connectors are approximately IP 67 protected when fitted with the optional sealing air connection, while the standard design offers an IP 65 protection class. For the blower motor, the standard protection class is IP 44, and for surface-cooling (blower grille) and blower connection, the protection class is IP 24. These protection classes indicate the degree to which the motors are safeguarded against the ingress of solid objects and liquids.
