Kollmorgen's Ethernet-based digital servo drive, the AKD-P04807-NBCC-E000, features position indexing capabilities and is encased in a standard width housing. It's crucial to install the unit in a non-magnetic environment clear from corrosive or conductive materials and avoid horizontal mounting. Care should be taken not to allow condensate from cooling systems on surfaces of the drive. The device's mounting plate should be grounded as per EMC compliant regulations and it should maintain a clearance of 150 mm both above and below in the control cabinet. Despite being switched off, it may maintain live power and control connections briefly and supports EtherCAT and CANopen connectivity. Following IEC 61800-5-1 specifications, a double protection earth connection is needed. The drive's operational status should be monitored by its PLC. The drive requires standard cables and a node address setting when using a CANopen fieldbus interface. Routing power and control cables separately minimizes operational interference, while a differential analog input and large area grounding shielding are necessary.
