The B&R 2NW100.50-1 PROFIBUS Network Module by B & R Automation is a key component designed to integrate the B&R System 2010 with PROFIBUS networks, ensuring efficient and reliable communication in industrial automation settings. Released in 2010, it features two electrically isolated RS485 interfaces, each with a 9-pin D-type socket for secure cable connections. The module supports baud rates ranging from 9.6 kBit/sec to 500 kBit/sec, with varying maximum transmission distances. It operates using the token-passing principle in compliance with the DIN19245 parts 1 and 2 of the PROFIBUS master-slave protocol. Able to handle up to 127 stations, it employs shielded twisted pair cables in a bus topology. Diagnostic LEDs indicate status, while four switches allow configuration of addresses and baud rate. The module is compatible with BP101 or BP110 base plates, offering reduced power consumption and easy integration into existing systems.
