It converts direction and step inputs into motor winding currents to control two-phase bipolar stepping motors, with adjustable output currents from 5 to 8 amps, a factory setting of 5 amps RMS, and a peak capability of 11.3 amps. Equipped with mid-range instability control, it minimizes torque loss and reduces stalling at mid-range speeds by monitoring oscillation. The 5630-026 features a bipolar chopper drive, operating up to 20 kHz, with an internal power supply from a 115-volt AC input and a full-wave bridge rectifier. It includes inrush current limiting and shunt regulator circuitry to discard excess energy beyond 200 volts, providing motor protection. Additionally, it offers short circuit protection with automatic shutdown to enhance reliability and operational safety.
