Ideally, the 6410-007-N-N-N drive should be mounted bookcase style to a cooling plate, like a sufficient heat sink or aluminium plate, to ensure optimal thermal performance and minimal panel use. The cooling plate should adequately dissipate heat and keep the chassis temperature below 60°C. If a cooling plate is not available, Pacific Scientific offers an optional heat sink. Space approximately 4 inches above and below the unit is ideal if cooling is by convection without a fan. For optimal running conditions, use 5 Amps RMS for a maximum temperature of 25°C, and 2.5 Amps RMS for temperatures of 45°C or less.
