The RS-232 interface is used for commissioning, programming, and maintenance of the drive, enabling connections for multiple users over a 15-meter transmission range at a rate of 9600/19200 baud. The RS-485 interface allows for serial bus implementation with more than 30 linked users through two-wire lines, boosting transmission reach up to 500 meters and affording the same transmission rate as the RS-232. Connection options for drive control with the RS-485 include selecting an RS-232/RS-485 converter or using an RS-485 plug-in card. To safely connect to the motor feedback, Rexroth Indramat cables safeguarded against high temperatures and braking activities, with a maximum length of 75 meters, should be used as per the drive control manual to prevent potential controller damage.
