The 8EI8X8HWS10.0700-1 is a servo drive module manufactured by B&R Automation and assigned to the 8EI Servo Drives series within the ACOPOS P3 family. Configured as a standard 1-axis module, it is intended to control one motor from a single power stage. The device supplies controlled three-phase power to synchronous or induction motors. This allows a PLC to regulate position, velocity, and torque in packaging lines, material handling cells, and general motion applications.
The module runs directly from a 3x 200–480 VAC supply at 50/60 Hz ±4 %. Under continuous duty it provides 8.8 Aeff, translating to 4 kW of output for the connected motor. A DC bus capacitance of 470 µF stabilizes the intermediate circuit, while carrier modulation up to 598 Hz supports high-speed motor operation. The enclosure carries an IP20 rating and includes a front cover. Its 66 × 290 × 258.5 mm chassis mounts on a wall for control-panel installation. Internal braking resistors absorb excess energy during deceleration, and the installed load is limited to 10 kVA. The design uses the supplied two-row connector set for power and feedback wiring, and it comes without plug-in card slots or custom options. Hard-wired STO with encoder feedback provides the integrated safety function.
For transient events, the drive can supply 24 Aeff of peak current and up to 10 kW of output, giving added headroom during rapid indexing or short load surges. Start-up protection devices must accommodate an inrush of 45 A. With a mass of 3.2 kg, the unit adds little weight to the control panel. It is supplied as a standard module, which keeps the configuration straightforward in cabinets that do not require extra option cards. The peak-current capability supports short acceleration demands without changing the continuous-duty rating. The compact module format suits cabinets where drive density and straightforward wiring access are important.
