8LSA46.S1060C200-0
The 8LSA46.S1060C200-0 is a three-phase synchronous servo motor manufactured by B&R Automation and offered in the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. As an electromechanical actuator, it converts controlled drive current into shaft torque and speed for packaging machines, pick-and-place units, and other automated axes. The motor supports closed-loop position and velocity control when paired with its integrated feedback system and brake. This allows the drive to correct motion in real time during indexing, placement, and synchronized machine movement.
A mounting flange with a 100 mm bolt circle allows direct attachment to the machine. Power is routed through a straight top connector, which helps keep the cable path above nearby moving parts and can simplify routing in tight spaces. Cooling is provided by self-cooling through free circulation, so no external blower is required. Under normal load, the motor reaches a rated speed of 6000 rpm. It also carries length code 6, indicating a medium housing depth, and the smooth shaft end is intended for clamp-style couplings rather than keyed connections.
Feedback is supplied by an integrated optical EnDat encoder that sends digital position data to the drive over the motor interface. The encoder offers a resolution of 25/12 bits for single-turn and multi-turn measurement, and absolute position is retained over multi-turn (4096 revs) without a battery. A standard holding brake locks the rotor when power is removed, which is useful on axes that must remain fixed at standstill. This supports accurate restart behavior after stops. The housing is flange mounted to keep the stator centered during installation. Because the motor does not use a reinforced bearing or an oil seal, it is best suited to applications with aligned external mechanics and where additional shaft sealing is not required.
