080G0321
The 080G0321 is a programmable logic controller produced by Danfoss within the MCX Programmable Controllers series. This controller coordinates sensors, actuators, and compressor staging inside refrigeration and HVAC machinery, providing a compact core for supervisory, safety, and energy-efficiency logic in industrial automation tasks.
It presents 8 analog inputs for transducers such as temperature or pressure probes, and 2 analog outputs that drive proportional valves or speed references. For discrete signaling, the board carries 8 digital inputs and 8 digital outputs, letting it read switch states and toggle relays or contactors. Sampling resolution and update rates are selected in firmware to match the dynamics of refrigeration circuits, preventing overshoot and ensuring stable suction pressure. Control electronics are powered from a single 230 V AC supply; an internal switch-mode stage limits draw to 20 VA, minimizing cabinet loading. The on-board power section follows mains timing at 50/60 Hz, so the unit can be installed on global distribution networks. A built-in MODBUS interface transmits setpoints and alarm data to higher-level controllers without extra gateways.
In field use the controller’s relay section can source up to 32 A across outputs 1 through 8, while outputs 5 and 6 require at least 50 mA to guarantee contact wetting during low-current loads. The refrigerant control firmware supports staging of as many as eight compressors, coordinating duty cycles through MODBUS links to variable speed drives and expansion valves. Environmental tolerance is defined by an IP20 housing and allowance for ambient humidity up to 90 % non-condensing. Temperature operation spans -20 to 60 °C, permitting placement in chilled equipment rooms or heated mechanical spaces without auxiliary conditioning.
