084B8012
The 084B8012 is a climate-process controller produced by Danfoss in the Electronic Climate Controllers series. It serves as the supervisory device for multi-compressor refrigeration racks and related HVAC assemblies, coordinating compressors, condensers, and evaporator fans to keep suction and discharge conditions within target limits. Integrating analog pressure and temperature inputs with digital output logic, the unit automates cooling plant operation and supports connection to higher-level building management systems.
As a Pack Controller, the device runs on a stabilized 24 V AC supply and draws only 8 VA under steady load, so heat dissipation inside the panel remains low. Native Ethernet and MODBUS ports permit direct exchange of setpoints and alarms with PLCs or SCADA hosts. Ten digital outputs switch contactors for compressors, solenoid valves, and safety alarms, while the condenser algorithm references either pressure or temperature feedback to stage fan speed. Four dedicated fan channels support stepped or variable-speed capacity control, and the housing accepts DIN-rail clips or wall screws for flexible mounting in crowded enclosures.
The controller’s third network, the LON interface, facilitates peer-to-peer communication with distributed I/O modules. Compressor sequencing is managed through a Step capacity mode, allowing incremental load matching that minimizes cycling wear. The enclosure carries an IP20 rating, restricting installation to protected cabinets where touch-safe construction is required. Operating firmware synchronizes timing to the plant mains at 50/60 Hz, ensuring that output transitions occur at predictable points in the AC waveform. Sampling intervals for the condenser loop follow the same rhythm, sustaining stable head pressure even during rapid ambient changes.
