The EK1122-0008, part of the EK1122 series, is a robust 2-port EtherCAT junction manufactured by Beckhoff. Designed for industrial applications, this product leverages open automation systems based on PC Control technology and can function either as a singular unit or form part of a unified system. With two RJ 45 socket connections, it permits link activity status displays and is optimal for forming star topologies, connecting multiple EK1122 units in a hub setup. The junction can handle operational temperatures from -25˚C to 60˚C and humidity of up to 95%, provided there is no condensation. It must be stored in conditions ranging from -40˚C to 85˚C to avoid damage. Boasting an IP 20 protection rating, it should be installed in clean, dry environments and unused ports should be fitted with blind plugs. Connection cables should not surpass 100m in length due to potential signal attenuation from FastEthernet technology. For optimum results, utilise Ethernet components compliant with CAT5 standards as laid out by EN 50173 or ISO/IEC 11801.
