The 3DM486.6 I/O module, produced by B & R Automation, is designed for advanced industrial control applications. It features sixteen digital inputs and outputs, offering efficient signal processing with less than one millisecond of input filtering for fast and accurate performance. The module operates on a 5 VDC internal power supply with an external 24 V source, drawing 1.2 W and 2.2 W respectively. It supports sourcing or sinking circuits at a nominal voltage of 24 VDC, with outputs handling up to 8 A total or 0.5 A per output. Safety features include reverse polarity protection, thermal shutdown, and protection against inductive load switching. The device is housed in an IP20 enclosure suitable for industrial environments, operating optimally between 0°C to 60°C and 5% to 95% humidity. Its flexibility is further enhanced by external sensor power management, conforming to the System 2005 single-width format.
