The 55NM81-020-5-CTRL is a low-inertia DC servomotor from Pacific Scientific's 55NM series. This motor uses Alnico V-7 magnetic material for its permanent magnets, with no forced air cooling or optical encoder included. An analog tachometer is built in, and the shaft diameter at the drive end ranges from 0.469 to 0.53 inches. With a 3.1A to 5.7A continuous current range and 18V to 36V voltage rating, this servomotor is designed for applications that do not require speed control. It features a rotor inertia of 0.01 oz-in and weighs approximately 10lbs. The device is also used in toys and car windows. The magnets in the motor are alternately aligned to the armature's South and North poles, and the armature core is constructed of slotted circular laminated steel sheets with varnish insulation to reduce rotor eddy current loss.
