The Kollmorgen S446M-CA SERVOSTAR 400 servo drive is a trusted automation solution. It is a master module that controls a connected motor and transforms the inrush power supply (230/400 V AC) onto the shared DC bus with associated drives. It is connected via the built-in CANopen protocol communication port and controlled using drive setup software on a standard PC linked through the integrated RS232 socket. The S446M-CA provides RMS and max currents of 6 A and 12 A respectively. For optimal function, the surrounding temperature must stay between 0 and 45 degrees Celsius when in use, and -25 to 55 degrees Celsius when off. It supports a range of motor feedback technologies including HIPERFACE encoders, ComCoders, encoders with Hall sensor, and resolvers. The maximum permissible installation elevation is 3280 feet, which can be extended to 8200 feet provided energy derating (2.5 % every 328 feet) is applied.
