The R911005692 (TBM 1.1-20-W1/220), a bleeder module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat, forms part of their TBM series. This module safeguards both the drive and its operators by counteracting potential overvoltage conditions. Its function is triggered when there is a fault or defective resistor, apparent through signs of an overload. The module comprises a bleeder resistor crucial for enhancing voltage regulations and fostering safety measures. The bleeder module can output a maximum of 20kW power, with the built-in heatsink blower operating at a nominal voltage of 220V. This unit smoothly integrates into systems as a standalone module or cooperatively with multiple similar or distinct modules.
The bleeder module drains the electric charge from filter capacitors in the power supply, minimizing the risk of electric shock to users and maintenance personnel. If the resistor becomes faulty, the module needs immediate replacement. Larger value resistors discharge capacitors at a slower rate, yet cause less power loss than smaller value ones. The resistor should be linked in parallel to the capacitor in need of discharging, to prevent easy or accidental disconnections. The inbuilt blower in the module accelerates cooling through internal air circulation. When multiple drives operate in generator mode, the bleeder resistor effectively absorbs the regenerated energy.
