080G5000
The 080G5000 electronic climate controller is produced by Danfoss within the Electronic Climate Controllers series. It serves as a programmable node that collects sensor data and commands refrigeration or HVAC components inside automated machinery. Mounted on a DIN rail, the unit receives analog or digital feedback, processes set-points, and issues drive signals that hold temperature, pressure, or liquid level within narrow tolerances.
To operate, the controller accepts a supply of 24 V AC ±20% 50/60 Hz or 24 V DC ±20%, drawing only 15 VA (10 W), so panel heat generation stays low. Five analog channels—identified as 5 analog inputs—each feature a 100 kΩ input impedance, preventing sensor loading. They can read 4–20 mA or 0–10 V level signals, while a single analog output provides reference voltages for external devices. Two isolated digital inputs—counted as 2 channels—are used for contact alarms or limit switches. The RS485 Modbus RTU port links the unit to supervisory PLCs, and an optional Danfoss CAN bus interface extends networking without additional gateways.
Actuator control is delivered through a programmable current driver that can source 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA signals against loads up to 500 ohm, enabling direct connection to I/P converters or variable-speed drives. Three form-C relays rated as 3 SPDT contacts switch compressors, fans, or alarms, and a solid-state valve channel supplies 3 A (24 V AC/DC) to drive AKV, AKVA, or ICM stepper valves via ICAD actuators. The dedicated valve output type matches the Danfoss electronic expansion valve families, allowing tight superheat regulation without external drivers. Network data exchanged over Modbus or CAN passes set-points and feedback to SCADA layers, while the device’s lone analog output and built-in diagnostics streamline commissioning.
