The 131Z8983 is a low-voltage AC drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT 2800 Low Voltage Drives series. It functions as a variable-frequency controller that modulates the speed of small induction motors used in conveying, pumping, and other process equipment. By adjusting output frequency to match load demands, the unit helps reduce energy consumption and mechanical stress in industrial automation lines.
This model delivers a power output of 0.75 kW, equivalent to 1.0 HP, so it targets fractional-horsepower machinery found in compact panels. The drive accepts a supply of 200-240 V AC on a Single Phase mains, allowing installation where only standard single-phase service is available. Its internal electronics are protected by an IP20 rating, indicating finger-safe openings but no water ingress protection; therefore, mounting in a clean control cabinet is required. The absence of an application option, combined with the “Process” designation, means the parameter set is generic rather than pre-loaded for HVAC or lift tasks, giving integrators full flexibility.

The slim Bookstyle housing minimizes panel width, and all circuit boards are supplied With coating to enhance resistance to airborne contaminants. The hardware is classified as Standard with brake, so a built-in brake chopper is available for rapid deceleration when paired with an external resistor. A built-in SLCP display provides local status without a separate keypad, while the design purposefully omits a fieldbus card to keep costs low.
