178B1585
The 178B1585 is a low-voltage AC drive produced by Danfoss for the VLT 2800 Low Voltage Drives series. Intended for continuous-duty process installations, the drive converts fixed mains power into adjustable frequency output that matches motor requirements, allowing conveyors, mixers, and similar equipment to start smoothly, hold speed, and decelerate through its integrated brake circuit. The book-sized housing and built-in keypad make it suitable for crowded control cabinets where quick status checks and local parameter changes are necessary.
It delivers a mechanical output of 7.5 kW (equivalent to 10 HP) and accepts an input window of 380–480 V ±10% 50/60 Hz, so a single model covers most common industrial three-phase networks. The terminal area is protected to IP20, allowing installation behind a standard enclosure door without extra gasketing. Conducted emissions are limited by the integrated EN 55011 Class A1 RFI filter, helping the panel meet EMC guidelines. This version is supplied as standard with brake, enabling dynamic energy dissipation during rapid stops, and it is shipped without coating to simplify thermal conduction. Because no dedicated application option is fitted, all parameter blocks remain open for general process tuning.
System integration is aided by the factory-installed Profibus DP 12 MBaud interface, which permits real-time set-point commands and feedback within distributed PLC architectures. The slim Bookstyle chassis aligns edge-to-edge on DIN rail, minimizing cabinet width while retaining full airflow. Power is drawn from a balanced 3 phase supply and routed through screw terminals sized for the drive’s rated current. Operators navigate parameters using the Built In Display (SLCP), eliminating the need for an external programming module and speeding on-site commissioning. With these features, the drive targets pump and fan control in process plants where footprint, network connectivity, and straightforward maintenance are priorities.
