The Kollmorgen 502-03846-00R4 is a dual-purpose CSM/CPU module, designed specifically for the standard PiC900 system. It primarily executes program instructions while converting 90 to 250 Volts AC input power into DC output for other system components. Running at 8 MHz, its memory capacities include 128 KB application memory, 64 KB RAM, and 32 KB user memory. The module supports different servo axes update rates, ranging from a 1 ms for one servo axis to 8 ms for six servo axes. Designed with a 3-pin safety compliant connector, it offers a power output of 40 Watts, split into different voltage outputs. Equipped with a 1.2 Ah lithium backup battery, it ensures consistent memory retention during power disconnections. Furthermore, the module provides a PiCPro and a user RS-232 serial port for workstation interface and serial communication, respectively. Recommended wiring for serial communication is either 24/26 AWG solid or 26 AWG stranded wire.
