The AKM53M-ANC21-00 is an advanced brushless DC servomotor developed by Kollmorgen, intended specifically for demanding servo applications. Enhanced with permanent magnets in the rotor, the device carries out electronic commutation via a servo amplifier. The unit presents a classic matte black finish and comes with a non-resistant coating to specific solvents like trichloroethylene and nitro-thinners. This motor is engineered with a Comcoder and a 1024 PPR feedback mechanism. A distinctive feature of this model is its 24V DC spring applied holding brake which effectively blocks the rotor when de-energised. However, this brake is purely a standstill brake and not designed for recurrent operational braking. Irrespective of residual torque, the rotor can freely move upon brake release. The motor possesses a maximum voltage of 480 VAC, with a standstill torque and current of 11.4 Nm and 13.4 A respectively. Weighing a standard 7.4 kg, the device requires cautious handling to maintain component integrity and insulation clearances.
