The AX8640-0000-0000, manufactured by Beckhoff, is a power supply module within the AX8000 series designed for multi-axis servo systems. It handles three-phase input voltages from 200 to 480 V AC at 50/60 Hz to generate an 848 V DC link with a 40 A output. This module incorporates a mains filter for EN 61800-3 Category C3 compliance, ensuring proper EMC standards for industrial use. It efficiently recaptures regenerative energy using either an internal brake resistor, a brake chopper with an external brake resistor, or by diverting the energy to the AX8810 capacitor module. Featuring an innovative AX-Bridge system, it enables tool-free connections for DC link, 24 V DC control voltage, and EtherCAT communication. Compatible with EtherCAT system bus and supporting the drive profile Cia402, the module simplifies commissioning via TwinCAT 3 Drive Manager 2. It operates in temperatures from 0 to +40°C (up to +55°C with power derating) and is CE, cULus, and EAC certified.
