The BC8100 by Beckhoff is a versatile PROFIBUS bus coupler designed for controlling or monitoring external equipment. It supports up to 64 bus couplings, accommodating 256 digital and 128 analog inputs and outputs, along with peripheral bus inputs and outputs of up to 512 bytes each. This makes it highly efficient for real-time control applications. Operating on a 24 V DC supply, it draws 70 mA plus additional K-bus current (up to 500 mA), with a startup inrush current 2.5 times the normal running current. The BC8100 includes a 9-pin D-sub interface for seamless PROFIBUS integration and RS485 communication, with voltage insulation stability of 500 Veff. It supports up to 32 stations per segment without a repeater, expandable to 136 with repeaters, and can pull 10A current from power contacts, ensuring reliable power distribution to connected bus terminals.
