The Beckhoff BK1150 EtherCAT Bus Coupler is manufactured to connect K-bus terminals and EtherCAT at the fieldbus level. It can handle up to 64 terminals and with a K-bus extension, it can support up to 255 terminals. Operating at a maximum baud rate of 100 Mbaud, it's IP20 rated and provides multiple installation positions. The BK1150 comes with 2 RJ45 Ethernet interfaces: the top one connects the coupler to the EtherCAT network, and the bottom one adds more EtherCAT devices or allows for future expansion. The device can automatically allocate associated Bus Terminals into the EtherCAT process image. The 500V electrical isolation provides safety for the coupler and surrounding equipment. It can be utilized in any location in the EtherCAT network as it supports 100BASE-TX transmission. Slightly slimmer and lighter than its predecessor, the BK1120, it requires a 24 VDC power supply. The coupler uses industrial Ethernet wire and can be configured via EtherCAT or KS2000.
