BK4000
The Beckhoff BK4000 is a compact fieldbus coupler from the BK EtherCAT Bus Couplers series designed for high-speed industrial automation. It supports a maximum of 64 bytes input and 64 bytes output data exchange, enabling efficient mapping of up to 512 digital and 32 analog peripheral signals. Powered by 24 V DC (±15%/+20%), the BK4000 interfaces EtherCAT with modular I/O terminals to simplify wiring and accelerate installation.
In terms of technical specifications, the BK4000 features a dual D-sub 9-pin bus interface (screened with vibration lock) and uses LiYCY 3×2×0.22 mm² cable for reliable data transmission at a 500 kbaud transfer rate. The device draws 70 mA plus one-quarter of the total K-bus current (max. 500 mA), while the K-bus supply can deliver up to 1750 mA for attached terminals. Power contacts handle up to 24 V DC at 10 A. Configurable via the KS2000 software, the coupler accommodates horizontal or vertical mounting, ensuring rapid integration in control cabinets.
Built for harsh environments, the BK4000 is rated IP44 for protection against dust and splashed water and operates between –20 °C and +60 °C. Its dual D-sub connectors with vibration locks guarantee secure industrial connections, reducing the risk of signal interruption. By providing real-time data exchange, stable performance, and modular expansion capabilities, the BK4000 enhances system scalability, reduces cabinet space, and optimizes the efficiency of distributed control systems in modern industrial applications.
