The Beckhoff BX3100 from the BX Bus Terminal Controllers series is a high-performance industrial automation controller designed to manage extensive I/O networks. Equipped with a battery-powered real-time clock for accurate timekeeping and supporting up to 64 bus terminals natively (extendable to 255 via K-bus), it provides robust system scalability. With an IP20 protection rating, this unit ensures reliable operation in standard control cabinet environments.
In terms of technical capabilities, the BX3100 delivers a max. number of bytes fieldbus of 244 byte input and 244 byte output and a max. number of bytes process image of 2048 byte input and 2048 byte output, enabling sophisticated data exchange. It handles 2,040 digital inputs/outputs and 512 analog inputs/outputs, while its data transfer rates auto-detect up to 12 Mbaud, guaranteeing high-speed communication. The controller provides two serial interfaces (COM1: RS232; COM2: RS232 or RS485) and a bus interface via a 9-pin D-sub socket, facilitating versatile connectivity.
Additional features include a CANopen-based subsidiary bus system (SSB) for streamlined integration and diagnostics LEDs (2 × power supply, 2 × K-bus) for quick status checks.
