EHA-RMP-201-A-20
The EHA-RMP-201-A-20 is an electronic ramp module manufactured by Vickers and supplied in the Vickers Accessories series. It is intended to shape command signals for proportional valve coils or other motion-control devices, providing a controlled voltage or current ramp that prevents sudden changes in actuator speed and reduces hydraulic shock within automated machinery.
The module can source up to 10 mA from its auxiliary +10 V reference, allowing potentiometer or sensor excitation without an external supply. Its differential input presents 100 kΩ of impedance, minimizing loading on upstream controllers, and the accepted command span is ±10 V, matching most industrial analog outputs. Internal electronics draw a maximum of 6 W, a value useful for cabinet cooling calculations. When the enable line falls below the disable threshold of 3.5 V, ramp generation is blocked, ensuring predictable shutdown behavior. For very fast sequences the front-panel potentiometer can be set to a minimum ramp interval of 50 ms, allowing quick transitions while still limiting inrush current to the valve coil.
The power terminals accept up to 36 VDC and remain functional down to 18 VDC, giving flexibility when the control system shares a supply with other loads. Allowed ambient temperature extends to 50 °C, so the card can be mounted in warm enclosures provided airflow is adequate. The enable circuit recognizes external logic between 12 VDC and 40 VDC, letting a PLC or relay gate the ramp output without extra converters. Output capability reaches 5 mA across a ±10 V swing, and the ramp duration can be stretched to 5 s for gentle acceleration profiles. A differential input format improves noise rejection, maintaining an accurate command even when long shielded cables are used on the factory floor.
