The EK1914 EtherCAT Coupler is a compact product from Beckhoff Automation GmBH. This device features six digital inputs/outputs, two fail-safe inputs/outputs, and operates with a fault response time equivalent to its watchdog time. Using the EtherCAT communication protocol, the coupler can accommodate single or dual-wire connections. Manufactured from polycarbonate and polyamide (PA 6.6), the EK1914 requires horizontal installation and can be secured to a 35mm mounting rail using a unique double slot and key connection. Both solid and stranded wires can be connected, with precise connection cross-sections outlined in the device specifications.
