The PRD-B040ASIC-A2 (CR10561), a product of Kollmorgen, is an essential component in a closed loop control system. This digital drive amplifier, part of the Servostar Series 5 product line, pairs perfectly with a servo motor, which provides critical position feedback to the resolver on the amplifier. This model is powered by a three-phase input of 230 Volts AC at 47 to 63 Hertz and delivers continuous output at 10 Amps. It utilizes SERCOS as its control interface, necessitating an external 24 Volt DC power supply cable. Communication with the PRD-B040ASIC-A2 (CR10561) amplifier can be achieved either by a serial port or a SERCOS fiber-optic ring. The serial port supports baud rates of 9600 to 19200, determined by DIP switch number 6 for both RS-232 and RS-485 configurations. The drive programming and configuration processes are facilitated by Motionlink software, installable on a Windows computer. The seven-segment display, part of the amplifier, indicates four different states: power-up, steady state, flashing state, and momentary state. The operation and installation of this product should be managed by trained personnel only.
