080Z0023
The 080Z0023 electronic climate controller module is produced by Danfoss within the Electronic Climate Controllers series. It serves as an expansion component that links central controllers to peripheral stepper motor valves in HVAC or refrigeration automation, translating process signals into precise drive commands on the valve side.
To integrate sensor data, the module offers 8 analog inputs, so multiple temperature, pressure, or humidity probes can be monitored simultaneously. Command signals reach the valves through 4 stepper outputs, allowing independent positioning of up to four actuators. The dc bus requires a 24 V supply; this low-voltage level simplifies cabinet wiring and complies with safety extra-low-voltage regulations. Even under maximum load the device draws only 13 VA, which keeps heat generation moderate. Its housing is molded from PC/ABS, a thermoplastic blend that resists impact and maintains dimensional stability in typical machine-room temperatures. There is no display on the front panel, so setup is carried out via the host controller.
Mechanical and environmental limits are also defined. The internal electronics are built to the Division 25 classification of Danfoss HVAC controls, so firmware and addressing follow that group’s conventions. Protection against accidental contact is rated at IP10, meaning ventilation slots are open but objects larger than 50 mm cannot reach live parts. Service technicians can lift the unit easily because the net mass is only 0.49 kg, while shipping crates account for a gross weight of 0.599 kg. As an Extension Module, it omits batteries and stores parameters in non-volatile memory supplied by the master controller. The enclosure relies on panel mounting inside a cabinet to keep contaminants away from the electronics, and the absence of a front display reduces maintenance points yet requires external tools for diagnostics.
