084B8080
The 084B8080 is a condensing unit controller produced by Danfoss within the Electronic Climate Controllers series. Intended for supermarket, cold-room, and HVAC condensers, the unit interprets sensor data, drives fan or compressor outputs, and exchanges status information with building management systems. A back-lit front display allows on-site parameter entry and alarm review, while the built-in real-time clock and non-volatile memory support autonomous operation during network interruptions.
The controller accepts a mains supply of 230 V, so it can be wired directly to standard single-phase service without an external transformer. Under normal load it draws only 5 W of power, which limits panel heat dissipation and allows uninterrupted backup-supply operation during outages. Seven analog sensors can be connected through its 7 pc of analog input channels; these are typically used for pressure transmitters, NTC probes, or humidity pick-ups. Supervisory commands reach the unit over MODBUS RS485, enabling multi-drop networking and remote firmware updates through twisted-pair cabling up to 1,200 m. Control of fans, solenoid valves, or relays is provided by its 5 digital outputs that switch line-level loads according to programmable setpoints and timers.
For modulating devices the controller supplies two scalable analog feedback channels, identified as 2 pc of analog outputs, that can source 0–10 V or 4–20 mA signals to inverter-driven fans or electronic expansion valves. Three isolated digital inputs, noted as 3, let the program monitor high-pressure switches, door contacts, or defrost inhibit links. A solid-state gate for heater sequencing is integrated through the single 1 pc triac output, reducing relay wear when cycling resistive loads. The enclosure weighs only 628 g, so DIN-rail or bulkhead mounting does not require additional mechanical support, and the light mass simplifies service replacement during scheduled maintenance.
