The 1070170191 (PPC-R22.1N-T-NN-NN-NN-FW) CNC module, produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat, is part of the esteemed MTC200 line of CNC control units. Intended for installation in a switch cabinet alongside an RMB02.2 sub-rack, this product is cased in a double-wide housing. With an inbuilt axis processor, it can accommodate up to eight drives via a SERCOS interface. The module is set up within a module rack system, with no capability of coupling multiple products via a backplane. For thermal efficiency, the RECO module should always be installed vertically. This device relies on MTC control unit firmware and other hardware elements to function.
This CNC module comes with a flash memory of 4MB for firmware-- however, it doesn’t accept memory expansion modules. Notably, the firmware functions as a separate subcomponent. Depending on the current, the power supply cables have a cross-section ranging from 0.75mm2 to 1.5mm2. For additional axis extension, the device can accept a passive axis expansion module but not an active axis processor module. This module includes a boot loader/monitor firmware component that’s critical for initializing the CNC module and its hardware.
