130B1168
The 130B1168 control card is supplied by Danfoss within the VLT Control Cards series and is intended to plug into VLT drives to extend process-level I/O handling. Inside an automation cabinet, the board bridges field signals and the inverter’s microcontroller, letting the drive accept and forward analog references, digital commands, and network data. By adding this card, a designer can scale a standard VLT drive into a small local controller that supervises speed, direction, and fault signaling without separate PLC hardware.
This card carries a dedicated reference source rated at 10 V, allowing sensors or potentiometers to be powered without an external supply. A 24 V auxiliary rail is also provided and can deliver up to 200 mA to field switches or encoders. Incoming process values are sampled on a 10-bit A/D converter, so each of the 2 analog inputs resolves 1024 steps across its voltage span. One buffered D/A channel offers 1 analog output for feedback to external controllers or indicators. Taken together, these resources let the inverter follow fine set-points and report its own operating variables as a voltage signal.
For discrete logic, the board accepts 6 digital inputs and drives 2 digital outputs, while two form-C relays provide isolated contact signaling for run enable or alarm chains. Three physical expansion positions give a total of 3 option slots, so additional fieldbus or feedback cards can sit beside the basic I/O. Communication with supervisory equipment is possible through the integrated RS-485 interface; a USB 1.1 Full-Speed port is present for service tools. The module is identified as a type without a safe stop function, making external safety relays necessary when motion arrest has to meet risk-reduction standards.
