Composed of a rotor and stator, it is widely used in industrial applications due to its robust and cost-effective properties. The motor functions when the rotating magnetic field of the stator induces current in the rotor. The stator is fitted with separate windings for each of the three phases. Once the rotor reaches synchronism, it is demagnetised and rotates asynchronously at a different speed than the stator field.
