The B&R 2EX100.50-1 Remote I/O Master Module, produced by B&R Automation, is vital for expanding the capabilities of the B&R System 2010 through remote input/output connectivity. Released in 2010, this module features two electrically isolated RS485 interfaces, ensuring reliable data transmission over long distances, with ranges varying depending on baud rate—up to 1200 meters at 100 kBit/sec and 100 meters at 2000 kBit/sec. It supports a master/slave setup accommodating up to eight remote I/O masters and 31 slaves without repeaters, utilizing a shielded twisted-pair cable with external termination resistance. The module includes configurable settings for module and slave addresses and diagnostic LEDs for status indication. Compatible with BP101 and BP110 base plates, it is energy-efficient with a maximum power consumption of 12 W and compact dimensions of 285 mm in height, 40 mm in width, and 185 mm in depth, simplifying installation in complex industrial automation systems.
