The 4PP065.IF23-1 by B & R Automation is a prominent interface module compatible with the PP65 series, providing expanded communication capabilities through three distinct interfaces: RS232, RS485/RS422, and CAN. Interfaces IF1 and IF2 use a shared 9-pin male DSUB connector, with IF1 dedicated to RS232 offering data transfer at 115.2 kbps over 15 meters, whereas IF2 supports RS485/RS422 for network-capable communication at the same speed but over a distance of 500 meters. The IF3 interface accommodates the CAN bus using a 4-pin male connector, achieving up to 1 Mbit/s across 1 km, with speed contingent on bus length. Additional features include LED status indicators and hex switches for CAN node settings, along with toggling terminating resistors for RS485/RS422 and CAN bus applications. Users can configure inputs and outputs of interfaces IF2 and IF3 via Automation Studio.
