4PP420.0571-K14
The 4PP420.0571-K14 is a modular operator panel with an integrated controller manufactured by B & R Automation as part of the 4PP Power Panels series. Designed for machine-level visualization and control, the unit combines a touchscreen display, onboard computing resources, and field connectivity so that a single panel can run HMI tasks and execute automation logic. In process lines and assembly cells, it serves as the local interface that receives commands from the user and relays them to drives, sensors, and higher-level networks.
At the core of the panel is an AMD Geode LX800 processor running at 500 MHz, which provides enough computing capacity for compact PLC runtimes and graphical updates. System memory includes 128 MB of SDRAM for active program execution and a battery-buffered 512 kB of SRAM that preserves variables when mains power is removed. Communication with supervisory devices is handled through an onboard Ethernet interface that negotiates at 10/100 Mbit/s. The power section accepts a direct-current supply from 18 to 30 VDC and typically draws 0.5 A during operation; the input has no bleeder path because the bleeder resistance is 0 Ω, so external discharge circuitry may be required. The 5.7-inch QVGA display renders a 320 × 240 pixel image, and user input is captured through an analog resistive touchscreen driven by an Elo 12-bit controller.
For physical integration, the aluminum front plate is sealed to the cabinet with a gasket that provides an IP65 protection rating against dust and low-pressure water jets. The housing footprint measures 212 × 156 × 76 mm, allowing installation in compact operator stations without taking up excessive machine space. Heat generated by the processor and power electronics is dissipated through passive heat sink cooling on the rear panel, removing the need for serviceable fans and allowing silent operation in hygienic or particulate-sensitive environments.
