The Kollmorgen 502-03512-03 is an AC-powered Central Service Module (CSM) crafted specifically for PiC900 control systems. Operating at an electricity feed range of 110 to 230 Volts AC at frequencies between 47 and 63 Hertz, the unit utilizes 2 Amps and yields a total power throughput of 50 Watts. As its principal function, the module converts inbound AC power to a regulated DC supply for other modules in the master rack. This CSM boasts added features like scan control, an internal clock, and a lithium backup battery for the CPU module's NVARM. The module must always occupy the leftmost slot in the master rack. It transfers power to modules via a 3-pin connector, converting it to +5, +15, and -15 Volt DC outputs, with I/O module power stemming from external supplies. The battery also upholds the internal clock upon power loss. Only trained personnel should handle installation and operation.
