The Kollmorgen 502-03814-40R1, a CPU module part of PiC900 control systems, is a crucial integration point between hardware and software. Compatible with a computer workstation or operator interface, it can operate regardless of them. As part of the Turbo2 CPU modules family, it uses an 80486DX processor with a 25 megahertz clock speed, 256 kilobytes of application memory and 32 kilobytes of user memory. It can vary its handling of servo modules, managing between 32 to 2 of these modules at 8 to 0.5 millisecond update rates. Its interface with workstations is via the PiCPro RS-232 serial port, while other devices can connect via the RS-232 user port. It operates at temperatures between 7 to 55 degrees Celsius, stores at -40 to 85 degrees, and can tolerate non-condensing humidity from 0 to 95%. It's certified by ICS 3-304 for noise immunity and IEC 801 for electrostatic discharge levels.
