The Kollmorgen 502-03846-00R3 is a PiC900 Central Service Module or Central Processing Unit designed to convert AC to DC power and distribute it to connected modules. Operating on an AC input power range of 90-250V at 47-49Hz, it can draw up to 1A of current and output a total of 40W DC. The unit includes a processor that runs at 8MHz, EEPROM for program storage, RAM for data storage, and ROM for the operating system. It also offers two RS-232 serial interfaces for device communication. Memory capacities are 128KB for applications, 64KB for RAM, and 32KB for user storage. There is also an optional flash memory expansion of up to 8MB and a math coprocessor. The module utilizes a 3V/2/3A battery and it fits into the second slot of the PiC900 system's chassis, requiring installation by qualified personnel.
