The 5210, manufactured by Pacific Scientific, part of their 5000 Series, is a NEMA 23 rated stepper motor drive, controlled by economically smart motion systems. It has an input power supply of 2.5 Amps RMS nominal current and operates between 12 - 40 volts DC under the integral DC mode power supply. This device, designed to convert step and directional inputs into motor winding current, controls the two-phase bipolar stepper motor. The output current ranges from 1-3 Amp per phase on a maximum 44 Volts DC bus. The unit showcases high-quality solid-state short circuit and over-temperature protection, achieved by an integrated SCR latch. It supports TTL/CMOS compatible inputs and can select motor current values up to 3 Amps. Offering high-frequency control of motor current, the 5210 is easy to configure and mount onto a PC board, delivering total control over half-step or full-wave drive operations.
