The B & R Automation 5PP520.0702-300 Power Panel from the 5PP Power Panels series is a robust human-machine interface designed for Industrial Automation applications. It features a 7" (177.8 mm) TFT color display with a display contrast of 600:1 and a dimmable LED backlight offering a half-brightness backlight life of 50,000 h. Housed in a galvanized plate enclosure with front IP65 protection, this compact unit provides a dependable operator interface in environments exposed to dust and hose-directed water.
Inside, the panel is driven by an ARM Cortex-A8 processor running at 1 GHz, backed by 512 MB DDR3 RAM and 2 GB flash memory for reliable HMI performance. The display supports backlight brightness from 80 to 500 cd/m² and offers a horizontal viewing angle of 70° (both left and right) and a vertical viewing angle (Rev. G0) of U = 50° / D = 60° for clear visibility from multiple perspectives. User input is managed through an analog resistive touch screen with 81% ±3% touch transmittance and a 12-bit serial touch controller, ensuring precise and consistent response.
Built to withstand industrial stresses, the 5PP520.0702-300 endures storage vibration from 2 to 8 Hz at 7.5 mm and 8 to 200 Hz at 2 g, as well as operational shock levels of 15 g and transport shock up to 30 g. The unit operates at elevations up to 3000 m (component-dependent) and includes a 10 ms buffer time (power failure) via the MTCX logic controller, with an externally removable battery for quick maintenance. Certified to UL E115267, it also features mode and node switching via two 16-position switches and integrates a reset button and buzzer for user alerts.
