8EI2X2HWD10.0601-1
The 8EI2X2HWD10.0601-1 servo drive module is manufactured by B&R Automation and belongs to the 8EI Servo Drives series in the ACOPOS P3 8EI line. It is designed to energize and coordinate motor axes in industrial automation cells. The drive supplies regulated output power and forwards encoder data to the machine controller so velocity and position loops remain tightly controlled during motion. Because encoder information is passed upstream while motor power is regulated locally, the control system can synchronize motion tasks without separate feedback hardware at the cabinet level.
This module accepts a three-phase supply of 3x 200-480 VAC, allowing operation on common factory mains without a transformer. At rated load, it delivers a continuous output current of 2.2 Aeff, which is the sustained RMS phase current available to the connected motors. Mechanical installation uses wall mounting, so the heat-dissipating back plate fastens directly to the cabinet frame for heat transfer. An integrated internal braking resistor converts regenerated energy into heat during rapid deceleration. For safety, the drive uses hardwired STO with encoder monitoring, which removes drive output power in less than a millisecond when the safety chain opens.
Electrical connections are made through connector set 1, a single-row plug that is included with the module. The optional two-row connector set is not included. A front cover shields live parts and guides airflow through the housing during operation. No plug-in option card is included with this standard module option, so any additional fieldbus or I/O functions must be added externally when the application requires them. This arrangement leaves the module focused on core drive and safety functions, while expansion features are handled by separate hardware.
