8LSA23.D9060S200-3
The 8LSA23.D9060S200-3 is a three-phase synchronous motor produced by B&R Automation as part of the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. Designed for high-speed positioning tasks in packaging machines, pick-and-place gantries, material handling stations, and other motion modules, it delivers precise torque while keeping a compact outer size. The 8LSA configuration uses a standard housing without reinforced bearings, and the integrated mounting flange supports straightforward installation in servo-controlled machine axes.
The mechanical interface uses a 58 mm flange, and length code 3 sets the overall body size. Power, feedback, and brake lines are combined in a single-cable hybrid solution that terminates in a connector, which keeps wiring consolidated at one interface. Thermal management relies on self-cooling with free circulation, so no external blower is required. At a rated speed of 6000 rpm, the rotor supports rapid cycle times. Position data come from an inductive EnDat encoder that resists contamination, and the motor also has a smooth shaft end with no oil seal.
For controlled stopping and emergency holding, the motor includes a standard holding brake that engages when power is removed. The EnDat feedback conforms to version 2.2, enabling fast bidirectional transmission of diagnostics and position data during operation. Resolution is 19/12 single-turn and multi-turn bits, giving 524,288 steps per revolution plus multi-turn tracking. Absolute counting extends across multi-turn operation over 4096 revolutions, so the axis can regain position after a power loss without homing cycles. High radial belt tension should be avoided, yet the flange supports directly coupled loads within the machine, and the electronics are built to product revision 3 for compatibility with existing 8LS systems.
