8LSA24.D5060S200-3
The 8LSA24.D5060S200-3 synchronous motor is built by B&R Automation and belongs to the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. This unit is a three-phase synchronous machine intended for servo axes in industrial automation, delivering commanded torque and speed to conveyors, gantries, and other motion modules. It uses a standard bearing arrangement without reinforcement, and its mounting flange allows direct attachment to machine frames for rigid installation. That combination lets the motor transfer drive output to the load with the repeatable motion control expected in packaging, handling, and general automation equipment.
The motor reaches a rated speed of 6000 rpm, permitting high-velocity positioning where short cycle times are required. Heat produced during operation is removed by its self-cooling, free circulation design, eliminating the need for external blowers. The 58 mm flange dimension supports installation with compact gearboxes or direct couplings. A single-cable solution carries power, feedback, and brake conductors through one hybrid connector, which keeps the connection area compact in cable tracks. For vertical or load-holding axes, the integrated standard holding brake secures the shaft whenever the drive is disabled, maintaining position without additional mechanical locks.
The feedback path relies on an Optical EnDat encoder that supports protocol revision 2.1 for digital position transmission directly to B&R drive controllers. Signal resolution is 23/12 bits for single-turn and multi-turn tracking, which supports accurate speed regulation and coordinated axis movement. The multi-turn counter stores up to 4096 revs, so absolute position remains available after a power interruption. With a smooth shaft end, no oil seal, and a length code 4 stator stack, the motor keeps drag torque low and overall depth compact. This arrangement is useful in machines that need quick restart behavior because position data does not have to be recovered through a separate homing cycle.
