8LSE85.E1020D000-3
The 8LSE85.E1020D000-3 synchronous servo motor is produced by B&R Automation as part of the 8LS Synchronous Motors series. This three-phase motor is intended for precision axes in packaging lines, gantry stages, and other industrial automation equipment where accurate rotary motion is required. Its standard configuration allows direct integration with compatible 8LS drives and supports repeatable positioning without the need for special mechanical changes. That makes it suitable for systems that need stable speed control and consistent axis response during repetitive cycles.
The motor reaches a rated speed of 2000 rpm, giving the drive a predictable operating point for point-to-point moves and continuous process feeds. A flange dimension of 240 mm aligns the housing with common mounting surfaces and provides a broad contact area for stable installation. Heat is removed through a liquid-cooled A-side flange, so thermal energy is carried away by coolant rather than by surrounding air. Position feedback comes from an optical EnDat encoder, which supplies digital position data to the control system. A resolution of 13/12 bits for single-turn and multi-turn data supports accurate speed regulation and precise position tracking.
Power and feedback conductors exit through an angled swivel connection, and the mating lines terminate on a molded connector that helps simplify cable routing in tight machine spaces. The output uses a smooth shaft, so torque is transferred through clamp couplings without a keyway. For absolute positioning after power interruptions, the encoder includes a multi-turn capability of 4096 revolutions, allowing the drive to retain position information over extended travel. The motor is supplied without a holding brake, so any vertical or suspended load must be secured by external holding force or drive-applied torque. The original configuration also omits an oil seal, which suits installations where sealing is handled elsewhere in the machine.
